Dr Kypros Chrysostomides is the firm’s Chairman, and one of Cyprus’ leading corporate and tax lawyers. He specializes in business law generally, human rights law, international and constitutional law, and has published extensively on all these subjects. During the early years of his career, Kypros was appointed a research fellow in Private International Law at the University of Bonn and later also worked at the European Commission of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Today, he leads a number of the firm’s departments and is particularly known for his corporate law skills, and his substantial experience and expertise in international and tax law.
Dr Kypros Chrysostomides is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association, the Greek Institute of Internatio Lanalw, the International Law Association, the International Bar Association and the European Law Institute. He was a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for two consecutive terms, until June 2018. He is currently a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, serving his second term.
Parallel to his legal career, he served as Government Spokesman of the Republic of Cyprus between 2003-2005. In May 2006 he was elected a member of the House of Representatives, where he served as deputy chairman of the Home Affairs Committee. He was appointed Minister of Justice and Public Order in February 2008 and, since December 2008, has returned to full time practice with the firm.
He has been decorated by the Republic of France in 1991 as an Officier de l’Ordre national du Mérite and as Chevalier in 2004, and by Greece in 2004 with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Phoenix.
